Halifax River - Volusia, FL Fishing Report on 7th May, 2026

The spring transition is in full swing here in Port Orange, and the water temperatures are climbing steadily. This past week has shown a consistent bite both on the reefs and out in the deeper blue water. With the Atlantic grouper season now open as of May 1st, we have seen a significant increase in bottom activity, making it a great time to schedule an offshore fishing charter in Port Orange, FL. Nearshore and Reef Activity The nearshore reefs, located between 8 and 20 miles out, are currently holding a variety of species. We are seeing plenty of Lane Snapper and Mangrove Snapper coming over the rails on light tackle.
