Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) – Fishing Info

Find clear answers to your common questions about Port Orange fishing charter pricing and what to bring on a fishing trip—ensuring your family-friendly adventure is perfectly planned and every detail is handled by an expert local guide, so you can focus on the fish.

What is included in a Nauti-Cartel fishing charter in Port Orange?

At Nauti-Cartel Charters, we want you to focus purely on the fishing. Every trip is fully all-inclusive. Your booking price covers: the services of Captain Darius Vargo as your dedicated Port Orange fishing guide, all required rods, reels, and tackle, fresh live bait (we catch this at the start of the trip), all lures, and your Florida fishing licenses. We also provide plenty of bottled water and a large, iced cooler for any additional drinks or snacks you choose to bring.

Do I need to bring my own fishing gear for the trip?

You are welcome to bring a favorite rod if you like, but it is certainly not necessary! Nauti-Cartel supplies all the premium, specialized gear you will need for both inshore fishing in Port Orange on the flats boat and deep sea fishing on our 26ft Sea Hunt. From lightweight spinning tackle for Redfish to heavy-duty conventional gear for Grouper and offshore trolling, we have you covered with top-tier equipment.

Is cleaning and filleting my catch included in the price?

Yes, absolutely! We want you to enjoy your fresh Florida seafood without the mess. Complimentary fish cleaning and filleting are included at the end of every trip. Captain Darius will professionally bag your catch so it is ready to go into the cooler. (Remember to bring a smaller cooler to leave in your vehicle for the ride home!)

How much does a full-day fishing charter in Port Orange, FL cost with Nauti-Cartel?

For current pricing on our full-day offshore adventures (which focus on Mahi Mahi, Grouper, and Tuna 50+ miles out) and other trip durations, please refer directly to our official online booking calendar or contact us directly. Prices may vary seasonally or based on fuel costs. We strive to offer an affordable private fishing charter in Port Orange that provides exceptional value, especially considering all gear, bait, licenses, and fish cleaning are included.

What is the best time of year to fish in Port Orange?

This is a common question, and the good news is that we catch fish in Port Orange all year round! However, the target species do shift. If you are looking for the "best" time, the spring (starting around May) is fantastic because Grouper season opens, and the Mahi Mahi begin their major migration. For inshore fishing, the fall "mullet run" creates explosive action for Snook and Tarpon. There is always something in season.

How many people can you accommodate on your fishing boat?

Our primary vessel, the 26ft Sea Hunt Gamefish, accommodates up to 5 persons comfortably. This boat is used for all shared trips, nearshore, offshore, and shark fishing in Port Orange, FL. For our specialized inshore fishing charter in Port Orange (3-hour scout, crabbing, evening/night trips), we utilize a restored 18.5ft flats boat, which has a smaller capacity and is limited to a 3-angler maximum for optimal fishing comfort.

Are children allowed on your Port Orange fishing charters?

Yes, we are highly kids-friendly fishing charter in Port Orange, FL! We love teaching children how to fish and creating those lifelong memories. We generally recommend the 3 or 4-hour inshore or nearshore trips for younger children, as they require less travel time and offer frequent action. All passengers, regardless of age, count toward the vessel's passenger capacity.

What should I bring with me on the fishing trip?

We provide all fishing essentials, but for personal comfort, we recommend bringing: non-spray sunscreen (creams only please), polarized sunglasses (a game-changer for seeing fish), a hat for sun protection, and proper non-marking footwear (like sneakers). You should also bring any non-glass drinks, snacks, or lunch you might want. Moderation is key for alcohol, and no glass bottles are permitted for safety.

What is Nauti-Cartel Charters' cancellation policy?

We understand that plans can change. Nauti-Cartel offers free cancellation on all bookings up to 3 days prior to the trip date. Within 3 days, please contact us immediately, and we will do our best to work with you. In the event of dangerous weather conditions (high winds, severe storms), Captain Darius will make the safe call to reschedule or cancel with a full refund.
